Dan Steenhoek’s career and experience cover many phases of the construction industry beginning with hands-on experience as a labourer
and journeyman carpenter in residential, agricultural, and commercial sectors, through site supervision of building construction projects,
and upwards to project management of building construction and landscape construction projects up to $4.5 million in size.
As
a licensed carpenter, Dan has completed projects in custom home construction and renovation, agricultural building construction, and
historic building and renovation. Possessing these hands-on skills gives Dan a clear perspective of ‘how it fits together’ and clear
expectations of quality that can be achieved. Projects completed as a carpenter include the historical restoration of the Aurora Go
Transit Station.
As a Site Supervisor, Dan has completed many high profile retail projects for LCBO, renovations for various
local school boards, and historic building relocations on behalf of developers and private owners. Many of the projects required a
high degree of coordination while managing very intense schedules. Projects completed as a site supervisor include construction of
LCBO flagship store at Bayview Village Mall, hospital renovations, major renovations to LCBO Head Office, and the moving of the historic
Dempsey House building.
As a Project Manager, Dan possesses an in-depth knowledge of construction details and sub-trade coordination.
Dan’s areas of specialty include renovations requiring high degree of quality and critical phasing of work. Dan has extensive experience
in the ICI sector in several areas including construction of large retail outlets, construction and renovation of corporate office
facilities, hospital renovations, school addition construction and renovation, parks development, and renovation to manufacturing
facilities. Recent projects completed by Dan as project manager include additions and/or renovations to Skwarchuk Funeral Home in
Bradford, Mount Albert Fire Station No. 26, E.J. James Public School, multiple buildings at Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care,
various LCBO retail stores, and Sunset Village and Manor long-term care home.
Dan’s focus has recently changed to managing the
